Port of Calvi

Land Transport and Travel To and From Port Calvi
(Calvi, Corsica, France)

Calvi's ferry terminal is situated at the commercial port, just a few hundred feet from the town centre.

Many disembarking passengers without too much luggage choose to walk the short distance into the town, while the less adventurous can catch a taxi or organise a pick-up service from their hotel.

Travel by Bus and Shuttles

There are regular bus services to and from Calvi from many of the island's major towns including Bastia, Porto and Saint-Florent. Visitors should be aware that bus services vary depending on the time of year, so check with the Tourist Information Centre for an up-to-date timetable.

Car Hire and Road Travel

Ferry passengers travelling to the port by car should take the N197 route if approaching from the east of town, while those approaching from the south should take the D81. The town itself is relatively small and easy to navigate, so drivers should encounter few problems finding the conveniently located ferry terminal.

Although there are car hire companies operating in Calvi, many are based at the airport, to the south of the town, which can be inconvenient for ferry passengers. The most reliable means of ensuring the car of your choice at a competitive price is to book online through an independent website.

Trains and Rail Travel

The 'U Trinighellu' train runs between Calvi and Bastia on the east coast and Calvi and Ajaccio on the west coast. Although services are rather slow and infrequent, the line runs through stunning scenery and offers a relaxing way to explore the island. Train timetables vary throughout the year, so check with the Tourist Information Centre for up-to-date schedules.

Car Parking

Short-term and long-term parking are both available at the ferry terminal, though spaces can become scarce during the peak summer months.

Travel by Taxis

Taxis are usually on hand to meet incoming ferries and can be caught from outside the terminal building. At other times, pick ups can be arranged by phoning the taxi numbers that are displayed on the terminal's information boards.
